I must go down to the seas again

Pablo Picasso once said ‘Art is theft’. What he meant was that good artists don’t plagiarise but appropriate and make it better. I don’t claim to be in that space 😂 but  I do take inspiration from good art.

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
Sea Fever by John Masefield

If I was Picasso I would title this painting  ‘I must go down to the seas again’ and I must again and again and again to replenish everything vital to me. This is an ode to our wild uninhibited self.
